How to play AIRSHIFT

From your first race to Endless mode and gamepad - it takes about five minutes to read.

Install and open AIRSHIFT

Install the game from Google Play and open it. You start with a free car and the first levels unlocked. Nothing needs an account or sign-in.

Pick your controls

Open Settings → Controls Setup. Tap a layout to see it live in the preview and try the pads with your finger. Gyro? Hold the phone like a wheel.

Start a race

Tap PLAY, choose a level and press START RACE. Wait for 3-2-1-GO. In gyro mode, hold the phone the way you want to drive when it says GO.

Drive, brake and boost

Hold the accelerator, brake before corners, and press BOOST for a speed burst. Hold the brake when stopped to reverse.

Avoid damage

Watch the HP bar. Heavy hits cost health and slow your engine. Pass cars closely for near-miss bonuses instead of hitting them.

Earn coins and stars

Collect coins, cross checkpoints (they add time) and finish before the clock hits zero. Faster finishes give more stars.

Unlock more

Spend coins in the Garage and on locked maps. Online maps and vehicles appear automatically once the game has downloaded them.

Try Endless mode

Open Select level → ENDLESS. There is no timer - drive until the vehicle is destroyed and set a new best distance.

Use airdrops

A parachute button appears when an offer drops. Tap it to see the discount, then buy it from the Garage, the level screen or the Store before it expires.

Tips

Drive like a pro

Brake early

Slow down before sharp corners; wet roads and snow have much less grip.

Use boost wisely

Boost refills slowly and when you pick up the blue boost cubes. Save it for long straights.

Find your camera

Cockpit is best for feeling speed, chase camera is best for dodging traffic.

Match vehicle to road

Heavy vehicles survive hits; light bikes are nimble. Off-road capable vehicles lose less speed on dirt.

Tune the controls

Controls that feel off? Open the Pause menu and switch mode or lower the gyro sensitivity.

Be patient with coins

Compare the discount offers with the normal price before you buy.
